Different Types of Attic Insulation
Fiberglass Insulation
Fiberglass insulation is made of sand and recycled glass that offers excellent thermal properties, but some sound absorption as well. It can be installed either blow-in or batt style with the most common type being a cost effective option for both new construction projects and repairs on older homes in need of an energy efficient upgrade!
Mineral Wool Insulation
Mineral wool insulation is made from rock and mineral. It’s very dense, which means it can be used for soundproofing or resisting moisture in the air-conditioned home that you’re building! Batts come prewound on a reel of 100’+ length rolls of fiberglass mat – this makes them easy to handle during installation since their size won’t ever change even if there are some holes along its length while being wound onto drums/pregoms (a special machine).
Denim Insulation
Denim insulation, also known as cotton or denim batts is a great option for people with allergies because it’s eco-friendly and provides excellent thermal protection. It can be installed in place of traditional coatings to provide soundproofing from outside noises while providing your home with clean air circulation within!
Cellulose Blown Insulation
Cellulose insulation is made from recycled paper products, such as newspapers or magazines. It’s only installed as blow-in type of insulation because it has some unique properties that make for better performance than other types like fiberglass batts do in most cases . These include thermal resistance and pest resistance
TAP® Blown Insulation
TAP® Blown Insulation is cellulose insulation, but it contains more boric acid to act as a stronger pest deterrent. The dehydrated insects that come into contact with the insulating material are killed by this substance – you get rid of these unwanted inhabitants!
Sprayfoam Insulation
Spray foam is a cost-effective and efficient insulation option for any home, but it does have some drawbacks. For example spray Foam doesn’t insulate as well in cold areas since the material cools off quickly after being applied to surfaces without proper ventilation or heating capabilities built into them already (like basement walls). In addition because of its expanding nature there may be gaps that develop between different parts if you don’t plan ahead when installing this type of system so make sure everything lines up perfectly before finishing your project! Finally keep an eye on how much moistureσ around during application time—most installers will not come back out once they start filling your space with closed cell molecules
Foam Board Insulation
Foam Board Insulation is a type of insulation that can be quickly and efficiently installed on many surfaces. Unlike other types, it offers high R-values with less depth than before; this makes foam board an attractive option for those looking to update their homes without having extra materials lying around or taking up too much space in closets where you may store some old clothes as well!
